What a week! A huge thank you to all the staff and to the children, who despite the heat have had a great week in school.
This level of resilience is what we expect from the pupils at Abbeys and it is one of our school values- well done everyone!
Next week there will be plenty of rain.... so back to raincoats, jackets and wellies!

Whitby have enjoyed planning and making their own salads this term. They have learnt about where different vegetables come from and have selected their favourites to include in their salad. The children learnt how to chop carefully using a knife and got to take their salads home to try with their tea!

Magnetic Mazes in Missenden!
The children had fantastic fun putting their science knowledge to the test this week. They absolutely loved designing and building their own whiteboard magnet mazes to show how magnetic forces attract and repel with a paperclip and a magnet!

Last Friday, we welcomed 150 Dads, Uncles, Brothers, Cousins, Step-dads, Grandads and Mums into school for our Father's day event.
I myself have been very lucky to have a wonderful Step-dad in my life, so I know how important it is to recognise and thank all the people that play the 'father figure'.
Thanks to everyone who came along- I hope you enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, my photography skills are not what they used to be. Some photos were blurry and some how I managed to cut off Mr Hancock's head!???
I am however a photo hoarder so here are a few of my favourites from this year and past years to make you smile!
It's lovely to see how the children have changed over time.

SHOUT OUT to Kaison- after his first full season as a full-time goal keeper he has achieved man of the match 3 times and he got golden glove in his awards night. Keep up the good work! What an achievement!

Rowan has been playing up a year at football, he has settled with playing with older children and absolutely loves it. This season he has achieved several man of match awards and on presentation day he was awarded with top goalscorer. Keep up the good work Rowan! Well done.
And lastly a shout-out for Willow too - for being the boys' biggest supporter, always attending training sessions matches and tournaments. Whilst being busy supporting the boys she has become a little bookworm. She got her first BIG book from the school library and she read it all within several days. She would take it in the car and even to matches. Super reading Willow!
