Well, we have made it to the end of a very, very busy but successful year- well done everyone.
Good luck to all those moving on over the next few weeks- we will always treasure your time with us at Abbeys.

As we reach the end of another incredible school year, I can't help but reflect with an enormous sense of pride on everything we have achieved together. Abbeys is so much more than a school – it's a community where every child belongs, is known, valued and encouraged to be the very best version of themselves. Every day, our values of kindness, resilience and pride shine through in the way our children support one another, tackle challenges and celebrate success. It has been a year filled with opportunities, laughter, growth and unforgettable memories, from exciting enrichment like the BIG SLEEPOVER and Forest School adventures to sporting achievements, cultural celebrations and ensuring that every child feels included and able to flourish. Our children continue to thrive because they are surrounded by adults who believe in them, nurture them and never give up on them.
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to our incredible teaching team, support staff, site team, the PTA and kitchen staff, whose dedication, passion and care make Abbeys such a special place. Together we have achieved so much. Our Year 4 pupils have secured our strongest maths outcomes ever, our Year 1 children have once again demonstrated excellent phonics results, and our Year 6 writing moderation recognised the high standards our pupils have reached, with an increasing number working above the expected standard. in reading, writing and maths. Alongside these academic successes, we have continued to invest in our Forest School provision, our mental health and wellbeing curriculum and the pastoral support that ensures children feel safe, happy and ready to learn. Safeguarding remains at the heart of everything we do, creating a culture where children know they are listened to, supported and protected. None of this happens by chance—it is the result of everyone pulling together with the same shared purpose. Thank you to our staff, families, governors and, most importantly, our wonderful children for making Abbeys such a caring, ambitious and inspiring community.
We are sad to say goodbye to Miss Dewberry and Mrs Lisanti this week. Thank you both for all your support over the years. In September, we are welcoming Miss Lynch- into the Hive- and Miss Tyas, who will be supporting in classes and pastorally. I am sure they'll fit in well at Abbeys.

Even though you are officially leaving Abbeys. You still belong here. Going into year 7 is tricky and not all children will have a smooth transition.
Please just reach out or pop in if you need us. We are always here for you!

A huge well done to all the children who achieved 100% attendance this year. They enjoyed a lovely afternoon on the bouncy castle and assault course this week. 100% attendance is very rare! I appreciate it is based on children not being ill and this is down to chance in many ways. Nevertheless when it is achieved we must celebrate! Well done children!

We are very lucky to have received some funding from 'Men in sheds' a charity sponsored by WD40. They have made this fantastic sandpit for us- and there will also be a new mud kitchen coming soon! Thanks so much!

A huge shout-out to Miss. O'Flynn for being Ayat's number one supporter. She has given Ayat so much confidence to be able to shine and learn at a comfortable pace without feeling overwhelmed in the subjects she is struggling with. For being a support to me when I approached her with all those motherly worries. For being a bit of calm when my head was doing 100mph worrying about Ayat;s learning.
BIG SHOUT-OUT TO Mrs Fellowes! For always having a smile - come rain or shine. For the amount of attention you give to the children of Abbeys. For being such an inclusive headteacher who goes above and beyond to make everyone feel seen and welcome. For being so easy and friendly to talk to and for never making any question seem little or annoying. We really appreciate you and everything you do.
SHOUT-OUT to Mrs. Meredith, where do I start? Dawud has become a character and his speech has improved more than i could have ever imagined. He incorporates words that I thought would be too much for him to understand, let alone say. Dawud absolutely adores Mrs. Meredith and even at home during his imaginative play he will include her!
Abbeys has amazing staff, I know I have only named a couple teachers, but everyone is absolutely smashing it and the most pupil-driven staff I have met. Thank you team Abbeys.

Want to say a shout out to Miss Henry and Mr Ayres for all their hard work with Rio this academic year. They’ve been very patient, consistent and most definitely resilient with him and it shows not only in his school work but also in his attitude during school time.
Very grateful for the them both.
I’d like to shout out to Miss Gregory, she always greets the children every morning with a big smile and hello, and never fails to try and answer one of their burning questions so early in the morning. She really is a great asset to keeping Abbeys a happy safe environment for our children.

I would like to give a shout-out to all the staff at Abbeys primary. I’m coming to the end of 15 years of school runs and the staff have been amazing but there have been a few teachers that have given us as a family some amazing support over the years and who have been there. So a huge thank you to Mrs Ahmed for getting Sean to love school and making school runs more enjoyable, Mrs Sadia for making Sean’s last year enjoyable also Mrs Clarke who helped with helping Jake navigate school when he was there. Also, a huge thank you to Mrs Fellowes and Mrs Louis-White for all your help and support too. It’s going to be strange not returning in September, but we are excited for the next chapter.

A massive thank you to my fellow PTA members from me. It's a pleasure to work alongside the other members, helping raise money for the school, as well as helping at school events. The most wonderful bunch of people and I feel very lucky. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who works in the Hive for everything that you do. The care and attention that goes into the children is incredible. We are very lucky to have a provision such as the Hive and Max has come on leaps and bounds because of it.

Thank you to Miss Gregory for being an all-round legend! From making sure the school and its grounds are safe and maintained for the children. She helps the PTA and is a happy face every morning at the gates and on the playground. We appreciate all your hard work.

Thank you to Cate and the lunch team in the kitchen. After helping out at one event, I cannot believe how fast Cate and the team work! It's a hot and stressful environment, yet they make it look so easy. A new-found appreciation for the kitchen staff!

A huge huge thank you to Mrs Fellowes. It's not an easy task being a headteacher and I certainly wouldn't want to be in her shoes! But I can see the drive and the passion that Mrs Fellowes has to ensure every child in the school has the same opportunities as everyone else. A personal thank you from me, on behalf of the PTA for always being so accommodating to our crazy plans and ways! We know we drive you crazy, but really do appreciate you putting up with us!
The ladies at Reception deserve a massive shout-out. They work so hard, often dealing with things behind the scenes, and not once have I ever seen them falter. A massive smile on their faces anytime I've walked into reception and they couldn't be more helpful or accommodating. So, thank you to you Mrs Ayres and Mrs Wright.

We want to give a shout-out to the incredible Mrs Moir.
She has been a phenomenal teacher for our son in Year 2.
Her compassion, kindness and proactive attitude has been invaluable to us as a family this year
A big thank you also, to the entire staff at Abbeys. Our child speaks fondly about several of you and interactions he's had with you throughout the school year.

|
Please can I shout out Mr Ayres for being an amazing help. Whenever I need a 2nd pair of hands, he is always there with a smile on his face full of positive energy!

Also, could I shout out Cate, Steph, Amy and Nicole in the kitchen. Anyone who can prepare 800 meals, in the heatwave we have been experiencing recently deserves a lot of praise!

As another school year comes to an end, I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Abbeys Primary School.
I am incredibly grateful for the kindness, patience, encouragement and dedication you show every single day. Thank you for guiding my children, believing in them, supporting them and helping them to grow, both academically and personally. Watching all of my boys flourish year after year at Abbeys Primary School has been such a joy, and I know that is down to the care and commitment of such an amazing team.

A special thank you, just to name a few, to Mrs. Fellowes, Mrs. Louis-White, Mrs. Moir, Mrs. Ahmed, Mrs. Rimmer, Mrs. Bemrose, Mrs. Cahill, Mrs. Meredith, Mrs. Ayres and Mrs. Wright. These are just a few of the incredible staff who have had the pleasure of teaching or supporting my children over the years. In truth, this thank you extends to every single member of staff my children have had the privilege of learning from or coming into contact with. Every one of you has played a part in helping them grow into the wonderful young people they are becoming, and for that, our family is truly grateful.

Wishing every member of staff a well-deserved, restful and joyful summer holiday. Thank you for making such a positive difference to the lives of so many children and families. We hope you all have a wonderful break, and we look forward to seeing you in the new school year!

I’ve never done a shout-out before but Miss Moir deserves a shout-out for everything she does for Amara.
I’d like to give a huge shout-out to Miss Moir. She has been absolutely fantastic this year and consistently goes above and beyond for the children in her class.
While continuing her own teacher training, she’s gone the extra mile to learn how to manage my daughter’s medical condition, despite already having a classroom full of children to care for. That level of dedication means the world to me as a parent.

Her care and dedication gives me complete confidence that my daughter is safe and well looked after every day. Thank you for everything you’ve done this year – we truly appreciate you.
Huge thanks to Mrs Brown and Miss Cahill for helping me throughout my primary school years- Charlie Mallet

From Jack:
Mr. Godfrey - "He's a very good PE teacher, and good at football"
Miss O'Flynn - "She is very kind, and the best teacher I ever had."

From John:
Mrs Ahmed - "She is kind, and so happy that she brought ice lollies to class on a hot school day."

From me: Kim
Mrs Fellowes - Thank you for all your hard work providing safe streets for our children - getting the 20 mph street signs on Melrose Ave must have been a long battle with the council! And thank you for being approachable to discuss whatever issues arise with the children over the school year.

A huge shout-out to Miss Henry!
We just wanted to say a massive thank you for being such an amazing teacher for our daughter Charlotte this year. You’ve been so kind, patient, and encouraging in every way — you have made school such a happy, confident place for her, and she’s loved every minute in your class. We are so grateful for all you’ve done. Thank you for being absolutely fabulous!
Could I do a shout-out for the yr 6
I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the year 6 staff and helpers who helped put on such an amazing leavers' assembly with the children.
You should all be so proud of yourselves.
Thank you

Well done to Jayden!
Moving up to class 3 meant he was in the deep end of the pool and this week he overcome his worries. He is now smashing 50 metres! There was no touching the sides not even once! He earned 4 new medals in one lesson! We (me, dad and Oliver) were blown away by his bravery and achieving such a huge achievement.
Great work Jayden!

Don't forget that we have swimming in the first 3 weeks of the academic year. Over the Summer holidays more and more dates will be added to the school calendar on the website. This will help you organise your diary! Towards the end of the holidays, you will receive information about booking for the school bus which starts back on the 7th of September, as do after-school clubs!
