I can't believe that the first half-term is over! It has been a whirlwind of learning fun. We have welcomed so many new families and now have 300 children in the school! Our Foundation Stage children have settled in amazingly well and all of our pupils are building on their prior knowledge with interesting, fun topics. So much has been learnt over the last 8 weeks since the summer holidays.

We all need a little rest I think!

Our bus needs a name! Send your ideas to me- Jfellowes@abbeysprimary.org

We are lucky enough to have received DFE funding for our new minibus! We will be collecting pupils from Barleyhurst School, to bring them to Abbeys for wrap club.
We will also be using the bus for trips and visits, to give our pupils the best learning opportunities we can.

Congratulations to Missenden class!

They used their knowledge from making the prototype of a Shaduf, to design and make their final project last week. The children enjoyed adding the sand, making it more 'real life'. They also learnt how to work as a team, supporting each other and communicating effectively.

In art, the children have been exploring natural objects. They have created different shapes and have also been looking at different patterns using natural objects inspired by the artist Andy Goldsworthy. Well done Westminster!

We had two exciting conker competitions today and as usual the families at Abbeys go above and beyond with their creations.

The heaviest conker was 31 grams and it was found by Zoe and her Mum!

Well done.

The winners of the conker that looks like a teacher at Abbeys are.......

1st place- Arielle- She made a conker school with a Mrs Fellowes and a Frenchie!

2nd place- Ianis- He made a beautiful conker Mrs Meredith!

3rd place- Tahlia- She made Mr Harvey out of conkers!

Special mentions go to Sydnee, Evelin and Ruby W

Well done everyone. What an amazing effort.

Thanks to all the families who donated items for our Harvest Festival.

Our donations will be collected by the church later today and the items will be redistributed to the local community.

Well done and thank you!

Well done to our year 5/6 boys football team. 3 matches- 2 draws and a win last week.

They played again this week - drew 2 and lost 1. Kaison kept a clean sheet!

Well done boys!

This house event was all about team work. The children had to use string and bands to move the cups and place them in a pyramid.

The green house won! But it was a very close competition!

Well done GREEN TEAM!
