We made it! A very short, but productive half-term. Well done to the Year 6 children, for their fantastic effort during SATS week. I am sure you will be pleased with your results. After half-term, we will be moving into the final half term of the school year, and probably the busiest yet. I hope you have a lovely week off school next week, and we will see you on Tuesday 3rd June.

There has been so much going on in school over the last fortnight. Here is a little showcase of some of our learning!

Last week, KS1 went on a wonderful day visit to Warwick Castle as part of their Castles topic. It was a beautiful day and the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I was not surprised to see pupils asleep on the way home! I hope they made some lifelong memories. Thanks to all the volunteers that went along to help and to all the staff that made it possible.

Foundation stage have been learning all about real-life superheroes over the last half term.

They have had lots of fun this week creating their own Supertatos and devising traps for the Evil Pea.

This term Whitby Class have been fascinated by their new class pet - caterpillars! They have watched them grow, make their chrysalis and they now have 4 beautiful butterflies!

This half-term, Woburn have been learning to create relief sculptures of castles out of clay. This was not an easy task, but the children persevered and worked hard to complete them. This week they have painted and glossed them using PVA glue.

Years 3 and 4 have been making pot pies in DT. The children really focussed on preparing the vegetables and designing their pies.

They also enjoyed eating them!

Years 5 and 6 have been learning all about Dan Tirel. He is a famous artist and his artwork is based on monoprint techniques.

So they gave it a go!

Leah in year 2, is really enjoying her swimming lessons.

In just 12 weeks she has gone from level 1 to level 2 swimming and everyone is really proud of her!

Well done Leah. And great news, our swimming pool is coming back to Abbeys in September, so we will be able to see your new skills!

John's cycling is improving day by day!  This week John cycled to school with only one stabiliser on his bike!

He was a little worried when he left home, but was in good spirits by the time he arrived at school!

Keep it up John!

A huge shout out to Zidaan, he has just officially signed his 1st Academy contract with Northampton Town FC, we are all super proud of Zidaan. He has worked very hard for this opportunity. He has recently been lucky enough to play at Man Utd, Man City, Wolves and Brentford.  We wish him every success in his football journey and are his no.1 fans

Remember us when you are famous Zidaan!

Congratulations to Mr Godfrey and his friend Charlie! Padel tennis champions for Milton Keynes! What an achievement! We cannot wait to see you at the National Championships next!

Cate our cook went on to mug Mr Godfrey!

She said that he goes above and beyond for every child at Abbeys. Always making sure every child is included and always with a smile on his face.

We are lucky to have you here, Mr Godfrey! Thanks for all you do!

Mr Godfrey went on to mug Mr Ayres! This is because he has been super helpful with after-school competitions and everything else around school. He is always happy to help. Mr Godfrey said that he helps him to deal with all of us women too! (I don't know what he is talking about! But I love this Bromance!)
