We are nearly there! There are only 9 full school days left this term! The children have been so busy in school.

Many people think this time of year is about winding down, but we have been so busy with assessments, performances, sporting events and assemblies - there is no time to rest.

Next week will be even busier!

As per my email to you, this Friday pupils will be told who their new teacher is for September. They will bring a slip of paper home with this information on. On Monday after school, you'll be able to go and meet your child's classteacher and see the classroom they'll be in from September.

Unfortunately, Mrs Moir, Miss Rimmer and Mrs Ahmed will not be available on this day, but you'll still be able to see the classroom and have a look around.

Friday 18th July will be your child's last day with their current teacher and the following three days in school will be rollover week. All the children will move up to their new class for the last few days of term! We did this last year and it helped to reduce anxiety over the Summer holidays.

As well as saying goodbye to 3 teachers this year, we are also saying farewell to Miss Orozco and Mrs Sharp our lovely teaching assistants.

We wish them both the very best of luck.

What's been going on?

Over the last couple of weeks, KS1 children have enjoyed making smoothies as part of their DT topic. They had to design their smoothies as a group and chop up all the fruit carefully.

Muqrin even had a go at home and sent us some photos!

Missenden have been enjoying forest school this week! Outdoor learning is great in this wonderful weather!

The children have been using collage to create Viking long boats! They used paint to create the sunset background. Great work children!

The children in 3/4 have been thinking about aero-dynamics. They followed a tutorial to make jets and then competed to see who could fly their jet the furthest - AJ won!

Ms Burton's art club have produced some amazing artwork. I just had to share it! Well done children!

The BIG SLEEPOVER was a huge success! The children all took part in a range of activities, including orienteering, weaving, team games, inflatables, forest school, a water fight, slip and slide, a camp fire and a PILLOW FIGHT! I was exhausted! I hope they all enjoyed themselves. They slept really well after a late-night feast and whispers in the dark!

A huge thanks to the Abbeys' team for pulling it off- we hope the children loved it!

Can I have two special shout-outs please?

For Miss Dewberry and Mrs Louis White!

They always go above and beyond, not only with schooling, but they are supportive and understanding!

I wouldn't be able to do this without them! - H's Mum

SHOUT- OUT for Florence Martin

Florence has learnt to ride her bike without the stabilisers.

We are so proud of her!

What an achievement Florence.

Well done

Congratulations to Jackson he won the trophy for parents player of the year!

We are super proud of him for getting this. He has worked so hard going to a team where he didn’t know anyone!

Well done Jackson!

We have had a great evening with Chloe [In Foundation] and we just wanted to say how impressed we are by her writing! She persevered when the letters weren't quite right, she rubbed them out and kept trying with no tantrums!

Well done Chloe!

Mrs Orozco has mugged Miss Sadia!

'Not only she is great to work with, but she is incredible with the kids, always there to help, point me in the right direction and a great friend'.

We couldn't agree more! Well done Miss Sadia!

If you need help eating all that chocolate you know where to find me!
