I cannot believe it is half term already! These past few weeks have flown by and everyone is ready for a week's rest.

Today we had a very succesful bus service to school. I will send out more information about this over half term. Thanks to those that helped!

I hope everyone enjoys a well deserved break!

The last week has been very, very busy in school. With the disco, Parents' evening, the book fair, pumpkin carving, the Mini-beast ball, Woburn class assembly and our wooden spoon competition!

Well done for keeping up with everything! Key dates for the remainder of the term are on bottom of this newsletter, the website calendar and often on Facebook. Please make a note of them rather than contacting the office.

The children in Wrap Club, enjoyed Pumpkin Carving this week! They had a lovely time and their pumpkins were fabulous!

Why Parental Engagement Matters So Much to Us at Abbeys ❤️

At Abbeys, we believe that a child’s education is a shared journey — one that works best when school and home work hand in hand. When parents and carers are actively involved in school life, something special happens: children feel supported, valued, and proud. They see the adults they love most taking an interest in their learning, and it gives them a powerful sense of belonging and motivation.

A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who attended parents' evening this week. For the first time ever 100% of families in Foundation stage attended! Thank you to you all.

Your presence — whether it’s helping at an event, joining a trip, supporting a reading session, or simply taking part in conversations about school life — sends a strong message to your child: “Your education matters, and we’re in this together.”

We know life is busy, and time is precious. But even the smallest involvement can make a big difference. When families and school work closely together, children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. They become more confident learners and happier members of our community.

Please get involved where you can. Come along to events, volunteer,  share your ideas, and be part of the wonderful community that helps Abbeys feel like more like a family than a school.

Tintern and Turvey have been learning all about Autumn.

They have been enjoying caramel apples around the campfire, throwing and sweeping the leaves, exploring Halloween and Autumn creations at the playdough table.

Whitby class have enjoyed learning all about maps this term and designing their own maps of the classroom as well as the school grounds. They have added a key to their map to show the locations of different minibeasts they found outside on a minibeast walk.

This week Marham have been working really hard to secure their knowledge of place value.

They need a shoutout for all the resilience and determination they have demonstrated.

Well done Marham!

Some of our year 5 and 6 children visited the STEM science fair in Central Milton Keynes this week.

They really enjoyed their trip; they watched a show, got involved with puzzles, quizzes, and challenges.

In Bradwell class the children have been learning all about the features of non-chrologogical reports. They have applied these features to their writing about the Titanic! Well done everyone!

The children have been making spooky minibeasts to hide in the forest area!

As the end of term is here, KS1 celebrated their learning all about Minibeasts with a ball! They all dressed up and had a party! What amazing costumes!

Ziggy Webster: Ziggy has come in leaps and bounds and is settling in fantastically! He is becoming more understanding, he waits for the bus to school every morning very patiently and when it’s our turn, he goes straight to his favourite seat where he sits like a good boy the whole way!

He loves his classroom and is always happy to go! He’s a very happy little boy and is making mummy and daddy very proud!

Miss Craig: Miss Craig (alongside the hive staff) have been fantastic with Ziggy and I can’t fault them at all. Miss Craig goes above and beyond for him and even came to help us out with parents evening so mum and dad could speak with Mrs Meredith while Ziggy explored the classroom! She answers all my questions happily and I normally have a few! We appreciate her very much.

Mrs Fellowes: Although this is my first time with a primary school for my own children, I have never known a head teacher quite like Mrs Fellowes! She goes out of her way every day to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable, she’s understanding and kind and the kids love her! Even my daughter who doesn’t even go to school yet loves Mrs Fellowes. I feel extremely happy with my choice of school for Ziggy and Mrs Fellowes plays is a big big part in that, so thank you all so much!

                                                                THANKS FOR THE SHOUTOUTS!

A shoutout for Miss Moir and Eric

We had an amazing parents evening; its settled our hearts and made us proud as punch to hear how incredible our son's doing in Miss Moir's class.

Shes gone above and beyond getting to know our son and with her patience and dedication he's come along in leaps and bounds. Taking such enjoyment in his learning and friendship building.

Thank you so much Miss Moir, it truly does mean the world to us!

Paige took part in her gymnastics championship on Sunday. She has been training non stop, on average 16 hours a week. She had just over a week to learn her floor routine and was first up to compete.

She did amazing and got 2nd place on vault.

Well done Paige! Hard work pays off!

Kira finally got to see Gabby's Dollhouse the Movie at the cinema.

She was so happy.

She can't wait to go to the cinema again with her class.

Well done Kira!

I would love to do a shout-out for Florence Martin for being so brave doing her MRI scan and for having a great parents evening

Congratulations to Leighton who won the best overall wooden spoon design with his retelling of the Hungry Caterpillar!

It was amazing!

Leighton won the HOUSE TROPHY for the YELLOW team!

Well done Leighton.

Chiamaka's design was my personal favourite!

A spoon with angry me shouting 'NO MORE 6...7... OR YOU WILL HAVE EXTRA HOMEWORK!' Love it!
