Attendance Update

This week you will have received a standard email outlining your child’s attendance for the year so far. These updates will be sent three times a year—once each term—to help keep you informed.

Before the end of term, the Studybugs system will also send an automated message if your child’s attendance falls below the school expectation of 96%. These notifications will continue to be issued automatically going forward.

Attendance is calculated as a percentage based on the number of morning and afternoon sessions a child attends, compared with the total number of sessions available so far this school year. This calculation is the same whether absences are authorised or not.

You can support strong attendance by ensuring your child is in school every day unless they are genuinely unwell. Whenever possible, please arrange medical appointments outside of school hours or after 2:30pm.

As a reminder, we cannot authorise holidays during term time. Should you choose to take a family holiday, we ask that you do not place your child in a position where they feel pressured to be untruthful about their absence.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain excellent attendance for all pupils.

Children in Tintern and Turvey have been exploring the traditional nativity story this week. They have learnt how to retell a story using small world props and puppets, act it out (especially the camel riding outside) and through drawing out a story map.

The reading corner has also seen winter arrive. The children have been enjoying new stories on the Tonie box and sharing stories together with friends.

Whitby have enjoyed their art project learning about Lieve Verschuier. They have explored colour mixing to create the fire background and added the silhouette of buildings on top.

In science, Melrose class have been investigating rocks. They wanted to understand if the rocks were; igneous, sedimentary or metamorphic. To do this they needed to investigate each rock's properties.

Belmont have been researching the effects of deforestation using secondary sources to include in their discursive text next week.

Mrs Lisanti decided that she would mug Frenchie for putting a smile on everyone's faces when she is in school!

Mrs Lisanti also mugged Miss Burton for all the fantastic work that she does with the children!

Well done and thank you, MIss Burton!

Shoutout to Jayden for being a superstar in doing extra work each night on his spellings, handwriting, pencil grip (froggy fingers Miss Cahill!) and wanting to always do extra for his maths homework. He has now got 10/10 for his spellings!

Shoutout to Miss Bemrose and Miss Proctor for all their hard work with Jayden it really is showing both at school and at home with his commitment to his school work. Thank you! You're both superstars!

Shoutout to Ianis, we are very proud of you, you have progressed enormously since you started karate last year!
You are determined, ambitious and enjoy every lesson.
Thank you Sensei Kym Watson for your guidance for the past year and sharing your knowledge.

Well done to Shiva! Shiva was inspired by acrylic art and made this night sky with his dad!

Mrs Brown is honestly a fantastic teacher!

Charlie has never been so comfortable and happy in a class.

She really encourages him to shine and she's fully invested in her pupils and their achievements inside and outside of school!

Thank you Mrs Brown!

A big thank you for the Mk Dons tickets, Rose and Junior were so excited to watch their first ever football match!

In Ukraine, there is a tradition of writing a letter to Saint Nicholas, and on the night of December 6th he puts gifts under your pillow. Kira wrote her letter and is really looking forward to when Saint Nicholas arrives with gifts.

It is so wonderful and magical for children.

Our Christmas Fair is next FRIDAY! I hope you can come along! The PTA and I would like to thank you for all of your donations so far. We are still looking for cakes and biscuits to sell on the day. If you can bake something sweet for us, it would be appreciated!

HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND EVERYONE!
