The week's are flying by and next week it is SATS week!

SATS in year 6, provide us with valuable data about the progress of pupils in school- from their baseline in Foundation Stage.

They are a really important measure of the quality of education in school and it is a time to knuckle down and show what we are made of!

Good luck to year 6 next week!

At Abbeys Primary School, being trauma informed means we recognise that children’s behaviour, emotions, and learning can be affected by difficult or stressful experiences. We aim to create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every child feels understood, valued, and ready to learn.

A trauma-informed approach helps us respond with empathy, consistency, and care, building strong relationships and helping children develop confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing. By understanding each child’s needs, we can support them to thrive both academically and personally.

This week staff continued their training using VR headsets! What great fun!

Last week we had the privilege of meeting The Childish, a family group with a very important message about knife crime in Milton Keynes.

In total we raised £183 for their campaign, which is provide essential bleed kits around the city.

They sung three songs for us and the children really enjoyed the performance. Their songs are on Spotify- check them out!

A huge thank you to PC Freed for coming along to speak to the children about what to do if they are first on the scene of a crime of any kind! The children have so many questions... I hope you are able to come back soon!

Foundation are enjoying their new topic “To the rescue”.

They have been working hard as emergency operators sending out paramedics, fire fighters and police officers to help our community.

KS1 had a very special visit from the RLNI this week. This was to complement their new topic 'Sink or Swim'.

They learnt about staying safe in the sea. Noah and Evelin got to dress up as real RNLI lifeguards. They practised shouting for help and floating like a starfish just in case we ever did get into trouble when out at sea.

Our Year 3/4 students are hard at work creating suspicious characters and puzzling plots for their original mystery stories. Between the whispered clues and the clever twists, we’ve been told to expect the unexpected!

Years 5 and 6 have been experimenting in their science topic! They have been discovering which materials offer the best filtration. They have tested paper cases, cloths, paper towels, sieves and funnels - the cloth was the best!

SHOUT OUT to Mrs Louis White. She walked a half-marathon for Alzheimer's society at the weekend.

A charity that is very important to many of us.

If you can sponsor her it would be appreciated!

Paige completed the Superhero fun run on Monday, raising money for the Henry Allen Trust and also cycling to and from the event.

Well done Paige- where do you get your energy from?

Teddy got his 5m swimming medal! Well done Teddy.... what an achievement! This will help you even more in September when the swimming pool returns to school!

Shout out to Harrison!

You are amazing and we are so proud of you!

Mrs Clarke mugged Miss Bishop for being an amazing TA, supporting all of the children in the class. Thank you Miss Bishop!

Miss Bishop didn't hang around! She mugged Mrs Milne for always supporting everyone in KS1 and for having a smile on her face no matter what! Well done Mrs Milne and thank you!
